CREES CROSSING

It’s been three years since nurse Jamie Carver survived the unthinkable. But the unsettling ghosts of the past continue to haunt her.

She returns to the rural town of “Crees Crossing” hoping to find peace, but the dark messages in the “recipe book” left to her by a dying patient may unlock more than she’s ready to learn.

The long-awaited sequel to my novella “The New Girl’s Patient” will be released in 2025!

COEUR NOIR - BLACK HEART

I’m positively SWOONING over the seductive new cover the incredibly talented Lisa Errico @littleforrestcat recently designed for my dark and delicious South Gothic horromantasy.

I often say that the best or worst of a writer’s characters visit their dreams, and Estelle Luther has been taking up space in mine. I’m fond of crafting strong, often conflicted and sometimes slightly off-center females, and she’s keeping me up at night.

She’s inspired by a couple fascinating female characters I’ve always felt deserve more backstory, and I hope to shape her personality with them in mind! More on Estelle soon.

THE NEW GIRLS’ PATIENT

After a bit of a “life hiatus” in 2024, I’m enjoying work on several projects currently in progress. My first novella, “The New Girls’ Patient, will be re-released soon with a haunting new cover by Don Noble, and after many requests, the full-length sequel to this harrowing little story, “Crees Crossing,” is also underway!

I’m eager to finish Jamie Carver’s story; she’s my incredible “final girl,” and I look forward to sharing it early this year. I’m dipping into more genre-blended stories as well, so look for my upcoming work to remain dancing in the shadows, but also to explore lush creative options as well.

READER REVIEWS

  • Jagge weaves a story of murder, mayhem, gore, apothecary, and necromancy with the southern gothic charm of Flannery O'Connor. Her characters are rich with love, malice, redemption, and history. It definitely goes from 0 to 60 with the blink of an eye and you are forced to strap in and hold on to the car hand bar. The New Girl's Patient from D&T Publishing LLC is not to be slept on.

  • Jagge has woven a tale full of life, history, hardship and horror--and how there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. She does this with effortless grace and ease. Jagge's work is a breath of fresh air. Her career is destined to be a long one.

  • There's a fierce new voice in the shadowy landscape of horror. Jagge unleashes a tale that rips at the reader's defenses and burrows within their psyches in a manner few newer writers accomplish. THE NEW GIRL'S PATIENT gnaws like the best horror... Comparisons will be plenty but one thing is clear: Ruthann Jagge knows how to serve up the darkness in brutal fashion. A writer whose work is definitely one to follow.
